The High Price of Justice
When their family and everyone on their ranch are massacred in a range war over water rights, and the murderers “have taken their blood money and melted into the West; just disappeared, scot-free,” the surviving Alvarez sisters set out on a journey to bring the killers to justice. Their hunt takes them across the Western United States in the 1880s, masquerading as teenaged boys, prostitutes, wranglers, horse whisperers, and even a young priest as they travel across the West’s boom towns and mining camps in search of the murders of their family. Early in the sister’s search, they befriend an older woman, who becomes an indispensable asset as the trio tracks down each of the murderers.
Praise for The High Price of Justice…
“The High Price of Justice – The Alvarez Sisters is just a great western, fast-paced and non-stop action. Character development is key in this read which I enjoyed as you learn more about each character the further you read. I read a lot of westerns and historical fiction and The Alvarez Sisters fit these genres to a tee. You won’t be sorry reading this one!” – Lowell C.
“It’s a fun romp through the 1880’s Southwest with all the guns, horses, gambling, and train robberies that implies. Don’t bother looking for anachronisms, though, as this book has been thoroughly researched. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.” – Chuck L.
“I enjoyed reading The High Price of Justice. The use of two young women as protagonists made for a unique and modern theme in a ‘western.’ The fast pace and humor added to the pleasure. Thanks for this fun read.” – Cris C.
“The High Price of Justice is a captivating tale set in the rugged American West of the 1880s. It follows the Alvarez sisters, thrust into a quest for vengeance after the brutal murders of their parents. Their journey leads them away from the familiar comfort of their Lightning A Horse Ranch and into a world teeming with colorful characters, some dangerous, some offering solace like the warm-hearted Lottie Dupree. Buckle up for a thrilling adventure where the pursuit of justice takes center stage.” – Nan H.
The Brotherhood of Pandora
To combat Napoleon’s increasing interest in the Caribbean and help pressure France to sell New Orleans to America, Vice-President Thomas Jefferson enlists the aid of friend and naval hero Captain Jacob May. He asks Captain May to wage a clandestine war against the French in the Caribbean not as part of the US Navy, but as pirates.
To accomplish this, Captain May uses the cutting-edge technology of 1799: Girardoni air rifles, Fultons self propelled torpedoes, a submarine, cannons with rifling, and Pandora, a specially modified ship. Captain May molds his crew into the Brotherhood of Pandora and gives Jefferson chaos in the Caribbean.
