Don’t miss Anthony Avina’s review of the latest work from David Nichols, The High Price of Justice.
The Review
An incredible whirlwind of revenge and justice, two themes that often become intermingled with one another, allowed the reader to fully immerse themselves in this narrative. The fast pace of the novel and the emotional undertone of the protagonists’ mission were perfect driving forces behind the story, and the imagery found in the author’s writing style brought the wildness and dangers of the Old West setting to life expertly.
The heart of this narrative was in the character development, especially between Anna Belle and Juanita, as they made their way into the wilds to find their father’s killer. The way the author showed the unique relationship the father had with his daughters and how he taught them to survive and be strong in the world rather than be waited on by any man was thoughtfully written into the narrative. The lengths the girls went to in order to find the people responsible and the intense action of the story will stay with readers long after the book ends.
The Verdict
A blend of a classic Tarantino film meets Tombstone, author David L Nichols’s “The High Price of Justice” is a must-read Western thriller. The twists and turns in the narrative and the rich cast of characters that helped elevate the two protagonist’s journey kept the reader engaged with this story until the final chapter.
